Security features
Consists of very durable and flexible plastic card; Ghost image, hologram, depending on viewing angle, shows coat of arms, large outline “M”, or map, or repeating solid “M”. Optical variable image at lower right corner changes colour as license is tilted. Raised print, discernible by touch. Malta cross visible in centre under UV light. Blue microprinting alternates with pink curved lines on front and back of card.
Further description
Licenses are credit card style. Driving licence has fine-line background design, primarily in shades of pink and blue with images of the Maltese cross in various locations. At the back there is the word “Driving Licence” translated into the languages of the European Community member states, repeat (without spaces between word) in curved lines across most of the front; similar lines repeat across the entire back.
