European Commission welcomes Joint Statement on Road Safety of Multilateral Development Banks

On the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, ten Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) have signed a High Level Joint Statement on Road Safety, committing to an ambitious and integrated approach to road safety.

Transport Commissioner Adina Valean congratulated them on this initiative. She said: "We need more targeted investment for new and upgraded road infrastructure with the highest standards of safety. Your statement constitutes the concrete answer to the call for better financing in the Stockholm Declaration on Road Safety. We in the European Commission are keen to work with you."
