Main rules
Vehicle registration is managed by the National Road Office (Amt für Strassenverkehr). The certificate is issued as a single document. A temporary vehicle registration certificate is issued to foreigners who hold a short-term residence permit, third country nationals who have not held a residence permit for two years and domiciliary companies. In these cases, the validity date is entered on the certificate.
