Vehicle registration is managed by the Directorate for driving licences and vehicle registration, through the Public Community Services for driving licenses and vehicle registration in every county in Romania. The certificate is issued as a single document. Drivers must carry the registration certificate each time the car is in traffic. In the newest version, section X registers periodical technical inspections, as well as the date of the next inspection and proof of passing the technical inspection. In older versions, this section does not have a letter and the letter X is used for the section for the document series number or is not used. Temporary registration is possible.
Period of validity
Definitive certificate – unlimited unless a new certificate is issued if the document is damaged, lost or stolen or if the data it records changes. The new certificate cancels the old document. Temporary certificate - until the date in section H.
